A Chinese satellite has spotted an object floating in the southern Indian Ocean which could be from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. Malaysia's transport minister Hishammuddin Hussein confirms the object is 22 metres long and 30 metres wide.

Malaysian Airlines 777 feared lost

The search is intensifying for a Malaysian Airlines 777-200 which is believed lost in the sea near South Vietnam. Malaysia Airlines said in a statement that flight MH370 had disappeared at 02:40 local time on Saturday (18:40 GMT on Friday) after leaving Kuala Lumpur.
